There is going to be a huge yard sale at the senior center on July 17th. Flyer below:

The Spice Room: Thumbs Up

Just had dinner at the Spice Room and I’ll have to say that we’ll be going back. I had Kao Soy, which was a soup like thingy I never had before. Other folks had the Drunken Noodles (one chicken and one seafood combo) which were equally delicious.

Go check it out.

Neighborhood Peacock

I was trying to sleep in the other morning when I woke to a noise that sounded like a cat stuck in a vise. The howling was a little more than I was able to bear, so a string of expletives came out of my mouth as I rolled over for another few minutes of sleep. I figured it was just some jack ass bird or animal tooling around the neighborhood. I later found out that it was peacock, specifically this one:

Traffic Circle gets a Facelift

The neighbors around 42nd Ave. South and South Holly street decided to do a makeover on their traffic circle. Lead by Block Talks (a local effort to bring communities together for the greater good) they took over a little bit of their neighborhood. Previously the circle was inhabited by weeds and garbage, but thanks to the hard work of dedicated neighbors (and some plants from the city), things were turned around. For more information on how to adopt your traffic circle, please visit SDOT.

The Cajun Crawfish Opens March 17th

What better way to spend a St. Patrick’s day than by eating at anew canjun place? Looks like the are going to be open for business starting at 11am. I’ve been looking forward to this opening since I saw the sign, though I may now be there to opening day. If anyone is around, be sure to shoot me an email or sign up for the blog and write a review.

New Cajun Restaruant by Othello station.

Just noticed a “coming soon” sign at what used to be the Hawaiian ice cream place down by Othello station. Not sure of the details, hope to find something out soon.
